Activation and Dispatch

Activation and Dispatch Message Resend Behavior

The subscription activation and dispatch messages are broadcast for a period of 30 days from the specified date/time (UTC) of the activation. For the first 24 hours, the subscription activation and dispatch are re-sent every hour. For the following 29 days (or the remaining days of the subscription if <30 days), the subscription activation and dispatch message is sent in the rotating queue.

For renewals, the activation and dispatch message will begin broadcasting 7 days prior to the start date.

DispatchClosed The process of transmitting information from the system to a receiver. This may be new service, a change or additional service periods such as a renewal or trial. It may include (possibly repeated) messages over L-band, IP, M2M or an off-line dispatch code. messages are sent as soon as there is a transaction that impacts the dispatch message (such as a change to an active / pending subscription).

Dispatch Channel

The dispatch channel is the communication channel used to send activation messages to the receiver. For certain APIClosed Application Programming Interface requests, the dispatch channel can be set to All or TelematicsOnly.

All

When the dispatch channel is set to All, activation messages are sent to the receiver via satellite broadcast messages (L-Band) and NTRIP.

TelematicsOnly

When the dispatch channel is set to TelematicsOnly, activation messages are sent to the receiver using an M2MClosed Machine-to-Machine interface (telematics) only.

When available, NovAtel recommends using telematics.
