PTPTIMESCALE

Select the Time Scale Used for PTP

Platform:

OEM729, OEM7600, OEM7700, OEM7720, PwrPak7, CPT7, CPT7700, SMART7-I, SMART7-SI

Use this command to set the time scale used for PTP. PTP time scale does not correct for leap seconds while UTC time scale corrects for leap seconds. Usually, PTP time scale is used in hardware time stamping mode, while UTC time scale is used in software or legacy time stamping mode.

If possible, both the PTP master and slave should use PTP time scale. Since there is no leap second adjustment, the PTP hardware clock does not need to adjust the time when a leap second happens.
